Earning a Bachelors of Science or Bachelors of Art in Fine Arts takes four years, because students still have to meet general education requirements. Studies go beyond reading, because students have to implement what they learn.

Drawing, painting, sculpture, and design studio courses require the student to learn the basic elements of art and principles of design. They will often be assigned projects to show that they understand what they learned, and usually these projects last weeks at a time.

Studying fine arts, though requiring much discipline, is very rewarding. In the end, once the student earns their degree, all of the hard work expended will be well worth it.
